Like many casinos, Hard Rock Atlantic City faced an extended closure due to COVID-19. Atlantic City is one of the later markets to open up, with July 2 being the approved date to begin the reopening process at 25 percent capacity.
With the casino closed a few months, they decided to make some adjustments to ensure that players can have the time needed to earn points and tier up. So they’ve announced the following:
Tier Points Reset Later
The tier points reset date will now be January 1, giving players additional time to earn points before the tier reset. This more than makes up for the time lost during the closures. No changes have been announced to the tier levels, unlike Mlife, Tropicana and Caesars Rewards, all of which have made changes.
2x Tier Window This Summer
From the date of reopening through August 31, Hard Rock will be offering a 2x tier point multiplier. This should help players further have an opportunity to make up some lost ground this summer.
Comp Dollar Expiration Frozen
Comp Dollars that were due to expire during the shutdown will be extended through September 7, giving players who have comp dollars on account time to use them, which should help those who were close to losing them before the shutdown.
Other Program Changes
Some casino programs used the downtime to tinker with some new ideas to launch upon reopening, and Hard Rock was no exception.
Rock Royalty level members will now receive resort fee waivers for hotel room bookings as a perk for their tier, something that wasn’t offered previously. And soon there will be the ability to convert comp dollars to free play on a 2:1 basis on certain days, something also not allowed before.
Hard Rock Royalty members also have a new perk to look forward to receiving: A trip to a Hard Rock casino in either Tampa or Hollywood. Having visited both of them personally, in the past couple of years, either will likely be a welcome trip.
These changes give Hard Rock players something to look forward to as the casino reopens, even if some of the changes aren’t as generous as what’s happening down the boardwalk or at the marina.
