On many slot machines, the easiest path to a handpay is winning a progressive. That’s how I got my first solo handpay last summer, betting just $1.76.
That’s also coincidentally how The Slot Cats have won some of their biggest wins, including a Mega on Reel Riches, for instance, as well as a Piggy Bankin’ major and a massive Endless Treasure major too!
That’s not all of the ones they’ve secured over the years – here’s a couple more.
The first one is courtesy of Hold On to Your Hat. In this instance the cats only collected eight hats in the bonus, but did manage in the process to upgrade two to silver and three to gold, meaning the chance for bigger prizes.
And on a 2 cent denomination, $3.60 bet, the major came out, and it came out not even on a gold hat, but a silver hat. On the gold hats they managed a mini and a minor to flesh out the winnings, adding another $240 on top of a $2,770 major.
At 7:43 in this video they play Ultimate Wheel Blast, which has an array of bonuses. They get the Jackpot Wheel, then proceed to get the best wheel, with plenty of progressive wedges available, and they landed the Grand for $2,106 (funny how it’s lower than the major, but it doesn’t make it any less exciting) on a $5 bet.
Games with progressives can be more difficult, because part of the pays are locked into those progressives that are rarely won. But when you do win them, the payouts tend to be pretty substantial, and can more than make a casino trip a success.
