This year has been a steady stream of great conversations with content creators on YouTube and beyond, and this week, I continued that trend with a great conversation with VegasIntrovert (Danny) and a guest co-host for my episode, Matrix2021 (Kevin).
I participated in a series called Vegas Favorites, which normally goes over various favorite things about Vegas and casinos, but Danny adapted it to play to some of the topics that I tend to talk about, particularly slot facts and myths.
We did open the conversation with some favorites, such as my favorite slots, my favorite Vegas casinos and casino floors, and other favorites type questions before diving into the more specific slot myths questions. During that portion I talked about some of my favorite properties, such as Wynn and Plaza, and why I like to play at off-strip properties. I also talked about some of what I like to watch on YouTube, from the slot channels to the travel vloggers to even food channels.
Then it was time to get into the myths and fallacies. Among the topics we covered were:
- Whether a full pot or fireworks, etc., means it’s due to hit
- A specific conversation about how Cash Falls works
- Button slappers and whether what they’re doing accomplishes anything (hint: nope)
- What is a Random Number Generator?
- Payback percentage, hot/cold machines, and whether hot/cold machines determine how the machine will pay
- Payback when it comes to multi-denomination or even same denomination machines
- Picking bonuses and whether they’re predetermined or not
- Are free spin bonuses predetermined?
- Do games with multiple reel sets see each reel set each work on their own or on a single game altogether?
- How do casinos make their money, and how to manufacturers make their money, on slots?
- How do casinos change the payback percentages on a game?
- Why do some games survive and some don’t?
- That oh-so-popular question about players cards…
It was a fun conversation with hosts that are clearly enthusiastic about slots like we are, and are players like we are, and they asked a lot of the questions I tend to get form players like us, so it was a great time! Please be sure to check out both their channels, and to watch the video to see the full conversation!
