Game: It’s Magic: Amber
Manufacturer: IGT
Advantage play potential: Low
What Makes it Special: Land a wild on a reel, and get the entire reel wild on the next spin.
The It’s Magic trilogy features games that have a strong connection to other persistent state games, but I haven’t personally seen a game that is quite like It’s Magic: Amber, although it shares a lot in common with games like Icy Wilds.
Its single spin wild reel scenarios don’t leave a lot of room for Advantage Play, but like its sister games, the top paying symbol can line up to pay well, and the wilds increase the chances of such payouts to hit.
Understanding the Game
Like the other It’s Magic games, you’ve got a 5×4 reel set with 50 lines evaluated at a 75 cent bet. There are five bet levels, and each bet level has its own set of persistent state reels.
When a wild symbol lands in a given reel, a sparkly border appears around the reel, and the next spin the reel will turn wild for a single spin.
As you can see above, multiple wilds are possible in a spin, and because the top symbol, Amber in this case, pays whenever any two adjacent reels have a wild or the top symbol and it lands on paylines, you get paid, and the pays jump considerably when you get more reels consecutively.
As such, the game carries a lot in common with the Lilly version, with a different way of triggering the wild reels. It also shares a lot in common with Icy Wilds from that perspective.
Understanding the Advantage
It’s the wild reels and the ability to capture higher than average likelihood of pays when they’re around. One spin is all you need to clear off left behind wilds on each bet level, so the investment is low, but the potential on that spin can be good.
With only one spin, it’s not the opportunity for Advantage Play that many of the other IGT games have. It’s worth a check, but it won’t likely be a workhorse.
Free Games Bonus
Land three or more It’s Magic symbols for the free games bonus. The more you land to trigger, the more free spins you get. You can retrigger with a minimum of 2 symbols in the bonus, which is different than the others.
The wild feature remains active during the bonus, so pays can get interesting there too.
Magic Wheel Bonus
The Magic Wheel bonus is identical to the other two versions. Amber can come out and award a wheel spin during any base spin. You can win a credit prize or a progressive.
I did not share the progressive chances in the other reviews, but note that they’re the same in all three. so the odds aren’t great to get one vs. a credit prize. But the odds do improve based on your bet size, particularly on the Royal.
