When I began work last year on what would become Know Your Slots, I had two initial goals I had for myself:
- Write a daily post for a year.
- Get into a writing pattern to eventually write a book.
On that former bullet, the site’s one year anniversary, with goal achieved, is coming up in just a few weeks. To the latter, I had a very rough idea in mind of a book, and figured that I would start scratching together enough material over time to get the ideas that would form the book together.
While that’s still a goal, just as the stay at home orders began to come down, I heard from someone via Twitter who was working on a series of introductory books to various casino games, and thought I’d make a great contributor for one on slots.
About a month later, we’ve gone from idea to launch, which feels like a really quick timeframe except nothing’s been normal the past year so time has been a bit more available to see this through quickly.
Wayne Clingman and I are proud to offer “Mr. Big Talks Slots,” an introductory look at slots for those who want to get their feet wet, but look to have a basic understanding going into it.
The book is only about 50 pages, but packs in a lot of information about slots, their history, how the basics works, casino comp programs and why they’re important, common casino myths and the reality, etc. If you’re a regular reader of this site, much of these themes will be familiar, but it helps to write what you know.
The book is designed to be an easy read, and at $2.99, an affordable one – we know there’s a lot of people dealing with all sorts of difficult scenarios, so the book is priced to be as affordable as possible.
