If you enjoy the site, I think you’ll also enjoy a pair of conversations coming out this week, just in time for a long holiday weekend. If you’re traveling, you’ll have quite a lot to enjoy this week.
First up, I had the opportunity to join in a conversation with Simon Cleath, the creator of It’s a Slot Machine on YouTube, to chat about slots and how they work, along with taking questions from many of the people in the room watching along as well.
We had planned to chat for a hour, and ended up going more than an hour and a half, and that was thanks to the great questions from across the viewers watching. We covered a lot of areas, including:
- The basics of how slot machines work
- How slots have been evolving
- Trends and themes seen in terms of new slots
- Using the players card in a casino
- Emerging slot types like the Megaways games
- That Wicked Wheel predetermined thing
- Are bonuses on games like Fire Link predetermined?
- Myths and superstitions
- Non-slot types, including Historic Horse Racing, Bingo machines and Video Gaming Machines in New York
One thing I love about the slot community is the conversations we have, and this was no exception – great commentary within the participants added to a lively conversation about slots and I was honored to be a part of it!
Simon does regular live conversations with various members of the community, and they’re a great watch, so be sure to check out Slot Speak (and all the other great content) over at It’s a Slot Machine.
Later this week on the site, I’ll share the release of a podcast I recorded earlier in the fall with Assorted Conversations, where we talk about casinos and slots as well.
Their podcast isn’t gambling specific; instead they cover a wide array of topics (hence the Assorted Conversations name), and the episode prior to mine is with another person I adore, Bridget Tamilow, whose stitching business I Got You In Stitches is well worth checking out if you’re looking for great holiday gift ideas.
