I’ve been giving some older Aristocrat machines some love as of late, and one of them has become one of my newer go-tos, and that’s the White Tiger slot machine.
It’s one of a series of games featuring the Jackpot Reel Power layout, which effectively means an all ways pays game with a special wild on reel 3. That wild, along with others, encourages the opportunity for five of a kinds to come out a bit more often, and they pay relatively well given the mechanic.
When that special wild, with a crown on it, appears and a five-of-a-kind line-up occurs, you get to respin the third reel, selecting one of the spaces in the reel.
You could get a multiplier of 2-10x, multiplying all the wins on the board, or land the crown symbol again to enter the jackpot feature, which can award one of three progressives or a bonus prize.
In this way, with the five of a kinds and upgrade mechanic, it is a bit like Fairy’s Fortune, which I reviewed recently, but using multipliers and the chance for a progressive as the way it upgrades.
Three or more paw prints triggers a 10 free spin bonus round, which increases the number of crowns on reel 3, and therefore the chances for an upgrade. You can also retrigger the bonus. I find the feature comes pretty readily in the bonus, with multiple opportunities and successful completions not unusual.
Like many Aristocrat games of this vintage, it is decently volatile but the pays are there to back it up, and makes for a fun ride regardless of outcome. But I have had a few strong winning sessions on the game, which keeps me coming back.
